Unholy Kludge

 Howling, wailing, reeking, Unholy Kludge takes to the battlefield. They are many, and they hunger.

 Initially the Black Grail was one of the Trench Crusade factions with the least appeal for me. I felt like the art was mostly gloopy zombies and not much else. But learning more about the faction and also trying out their rules, I kinda fell in love. And then TC announced changes to the Amalgam, and with it the Amalgame kitbashing contest. And I had to get in on it. Anyway, here's Unholy Kludge, my vanilla Grail Amalgam. I already have some thralls painted up to accompany them, and a box full of Nurgle bits ready to transform into the rest of the warband.

 

Iron Sultanate Pt. 1

New year, new project. Trench Crusade is my current fixation and while I'm struggling to kitbash up a Lion of Jabir for my Iron Sultanate warband, I'm forcing myself to eat my veggies and get the basic troops done. Here are some WIP Azebs and a sapper, primarily made from Perry Afghan tribesmen.

Baleful Eye Update July 2025

I've finally finished around 1k points of Chaos Space Marines for my Night Lords warband, the Baleful Eye! That means I get a dopamine dose from posting photos online! Extremely happy with these guys, especially Lord Balor. Better images will be forthcoming at some point, probably once I get my kitbashed raptors painted.

Hobby Failures and Killing the Lion

My Nostroman lion Maulerfiend is a wash. After spending months and months gluing random bits to it and sculpting more and more green stuff elements, I finally decided to prime the thing and... I hated it. It feels (and looks) like a disjointed mess, even with a unifying coat of Army Painter gray. So I'm scrapping the the thing. I've already started plucking some bits off for my Trench Crusade project, but that's an entirely different post.

Every aspect of this project has bummed me out, but I'm trying to turn the negativity I'm feeling into hobby progress by working on models I do like. So far it's worked, as I'm finally painting my Chaos Terminators and my kitbashed Abaddon proxy!

Building a Tyrant

I've finally started painting my Abaddon proxy, the cyclopean King Balor of the Baleful Eye warband! Thought it would be fun to post some pics of him in various stages of completion. This model is made from a miniature from the HATE board game I snagged on eBay for like $15, various Chaos bits I've had lying around for ages, and some sculpted elements. Not bad considering the actual GW mini is like $70.

Easily Sidetracked: Blood Angels Kill Team

I had some Stormcast Liberators and spare MKVI bits lying around and things happened! Right now this will just be a kill team to keep the project manageable. I'm definitely not contemplating turning this into a full-blown Heresy army. Nope!

Nostraman Lion Maulerfiend Pt 2

She's been sitting in a cupboard for quite a while now but I finally busted out my maulerfiend again! This has been an intimidating project, but today I started putting the finishing touches on her armor and I think it's finally starting to come together.
