Hobby Failures and Killing the Lion

My Nostroman lion Maulerfiend is a wash. After spending months and months gluing random bits to it and sculpting more and more green stuff elements, I finally decided to prime the thing and... I hated it. It feels (and looks) like a disjointed mess, even with a unifying coat of Army Painter gray. So I'm scrapping the the thing. I've already started plucking some bits off for my Trench Crusade project, but that's an entirely different post.

Every aspect of this project has bummed me out, but I'm trying to turn the negativity I'm feeling into hobby progress by working on models I do like. So far it's worked, as I'm finally painting my Chaos Terminators and my kitbashed Abaddon proxy!

Building a Tyrant

I've finally started painting my Abaddon proxy, the cyclopean King Balor of the Baleful Eye warband! Thought it would be fun to post some pics of him in various stages of completion. This model is made from a miniature from the HATE board game I snagged on eBay for like $15, various Chaos bits I've had lying around for ages, and some sculpted elements. Not bad considering the actual GW mini is like $70.
