Helbrutes of the Baleful Eye

The Baleful Eye are a fleet-based warband of raiders and scavengers, Night Lords brought low by thousands of years of attrition and corruption. Few members of the warband show the weight of these years more than the Eye's Helbrutes. Each rusting Dreadnought sarcophagus is more decrepit than the last, twisted beyond recognition and often so violent the Warpsmiths don't dare get close enough to even attempt repairs.

Night Lords Rhino WIP

This old Rhino I bought off a friend was originally intended for an Emperor's Children project that sort of lost steam after I'd finished the first few units. I feel like some of the sculpting and kitbashing decisions are not great, but after stripping off the Slaanesh iconography and slapping some midnight blue on I think it'll work as a janky old Rhino packed to the gills with Baleful Eye Legionaries and sent barreling to the front lines.

The Baleful Eye Opens!

I've been working on these MKVI-based Night Lords Legionaries for my Baleful Eye warband project and finally got around to taking some decent photos of them!
I had a five-marine squad completed, but then I decided the best way to differentiate my squads would be via backpacks. The squad with MKVI backpacks is getting a new Aspiring Champion to match their look, and their original Champion is going into the second squad, which will have standard Legionary backpacks. Squad three is going to be bolter boys and they'll be getting some of the OOP Firstborn assault marine backpacks I found for a reasonable price on eBay.

Thanks for taking a look! My next Baleful Eye post will likely have some of my homebrew lore and photos of the Helbrutes and Rhino I've been working on, so stay tuned!

Chaos Hordes Pt 1

I have a problem, and it's that my brain is too darn full of hobby projects. I promised myself I would finish something before starting a new one, and I kind of did. I got one squad of Night Lords Legionaries done for 40k (nice pics coming soon), which means I get a treat.
I'm kind of appalled at the prices of the geriatric kits Games Workshop are rereleasing for The Old World, so I snapped up a box of Victrix Germanic Warriors (60 minis for $50 USD vs GW's 36 for $85, which seems to be the new standard for a box of regular troops in TOW). The plan for these guys is to use some spare Chaos and fantasy bits to bash them up into a filthy horde of Marauders for use in The Old World and Age of Sigmar. I also have an idea for a very death metal corpse paint color scheme that I think will lend a more fantastic feel to the fairly grounded historical minis.

Hobby Failures and Killing the Lion

My Nostroman lion Maulerfiend is a wash. After spending months and months gluing random bits to it and sculpting more and more green stuff e...
